Our Team
Meet our dedicated practice owner, Dr. Joshua Foster. Dr. Foster took the reins of our clinic in January 2023 and has been leading our team with passion and commitment. Before coming back to his hometown to practice at his family practice in 2020, Dr. Foster began his career practicing in different hospitals all over the state, where he gained a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Beyond his veterinary expertise, Dr. Foster has a vibrant personal life. He shares his life journey with his wife, Lindsey Foster, his beautiful daughter, Parker Rae Foster, and a lively household of six pets, including three dogs – Addie, Bobby, and Pearl, and three cats – Archie, Patches, and Sherman.
Not only does he excel in his veterinary practice, but he is actively engaged in his community as well. His hobbies include golfing, riding UTVs, hunting, and immersing himself in the great outdoors.
Growing up on his family farm, he developed a deep appreciation for animals and learned about the care of pets and beef cattle from his grandpa, known to many in the community, J.D. Foster.
Dr. Mitch Foster is an esteemed member of our veterinary team. Graduating summa cum laude in Zoology from North Carolina State University in 1981 and subsequently earning honors from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985, Dr. Mitch Foster has been a valuable asset to our clinic since June of that year.
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Mitch is a loving husband to Lynn Mise Foster and a proud parent to two accomplished children: Lindsey Foster Strader, a local family nurse practitioner, and Josh Foster, our clinic’s owner. At home, he cares for three dogs – Molly, Jack, and Franny – and one cat – Bandit, two of which are rescues.
Dr. Mitch actively contributes to his community as the Treasurer and Assistant Chief at the local fire department where he has been an active member for 25 years, and a longstanding member of the Caswell County Animal Protection Society Board. His involvement extends to organizing youth sports in Caswell County, where he has coached baseball, softball, football, and soccer.
Outside of his busy professional life, Dr. Mitch enjoys outdoor activities, volunteering, and cherishing moments with his granddaughter and twin grandsons.
Dr. Andy Foster is a dedicated veterinarian with a deep connection to the community. His journey in veterinary medicine began at North Carolina State University after only 3 years of undergraduate studies and followed by 4 years at Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated in 1982. Following a year of practice in Mocksville, NC, he returned to his hometown to establish his dream practice, Carolina Virginia Animal Hospital, in June 1983.
Apart from veterinary medicine, Dr. Andy actively participates in community organizations. He has served and is currently serving in many positions at Shady Grove UMC. He has been a dedicated board member of the Pelham Fire Department for over two decades. Apart from his roles in church and at the fire department, he is known as “Coach Foster” by many in the area, where he coached youth football, baseball, soccer, and wrestling at BYHS.
Dr. Andy is happily married to Ginny McSherry Foster and is the proud parent of two children: Katherine Foster Parrish, who followed in her mother’s footsteps to become an educator. She is currently homeschooling one of her three daughters. His son Andrew Foster, a Doctor of Physical Therapy who is actively practicing in Caswell County. Outside of working at the hospital and serving his community, Dr Andy enjoys spending time with his six grandchildren, Abby, and one bird – Tequila.
Alicia, a native of Chatham, Virginia, is a valuable member of our veterinary team. Raised in a household filled with dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, and even a snake, Alicia developed a profound love for animals at an early age.
Alicia joined Carolina Virginia Animal Hospital in 2016, bringing her passion for animals and a strong work ethic. She is happily married and shares her home with 3 dogs, 2 cats, and outdoor koi pond. In her free time, she enjoys helping her mom care for chickens, spending quality time with her family and pets, gardening, landscaping, tubing, hiking, ATV riding, and horseback riding.
Her dedication shines through her desire to get to know each animal and provide them with the care they need. Alicia is committed to ensuring pet owners receive the support and guidance necessary to keep their beloved companions healthy and happy.
Breanna’s deep connection to animals traces back to her upbringing in the countryside, where she began riding horses at the age of three and caring for a wide array of pets.
She values the independence instilled in her by her parents, appreciates the importance of a strong work ethic, and takes pride in providing for her “family,” which includes dogs, goats, cats, and whatever other animals that may find their way into her life.
For Breanna, working in veterinary medicine isn’t just a job; it’s a passion. She is committed to providing the best care for animals, whether at work, at home, or while assisting friends with their pets. Her dedication and love for animals shine through in everything she does. In her free time, she enjoys various outdoor activities, such as horseback riding, UTV riding, and spending quality time with her dogs (“Ella” Jack Russell, “Gypsy” Labrador Retriever, “Maple” and “Memphis” (female) Golden Retriever, “Boone” Labrador Retriever).
Madison’s journey into the veterinary industry started 4 years ago when she enrolled in the veterinary assistant class offered by her local highschool. She started spending her afternoons after class and her Saturdays at our office where she became a valuable member of our team. In August of 2022, Madison was accepted into the dental hygienist school at Guilford Tech Community College where she decided to pursue her true passion. Madison continues to be an asset to our team as she helps at the office when she is available during the week and on weekends. Madison is committed to continuous learning and growth, and is always striving to be the best in both her fields.
When Madison has down time between the animal hospital and dental hygienist school, you can find her spending time with her Labrador Retriever “Carson” and Boxer “Bear” or attending a local country concert.
Kaleigh is from Providence, North Carolina, and she joined our team in August of 2024, but worked as a veterinary assistant for 5 years prior to joining us. She graduated from The University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2022 with a Bachelor’s in Biology, and is currently enrolled in a veterinary technology program through Penn Foster College. Once completed, she will be a Licensed Veterinary Technician! Bettering herself for her future is something that is very important to Kaleigh.
Outside of work, Kaleigh enjoys traveling to new places, going to the beach, or relaxing with her dog, Ember. Family and friends are very important to her and when she is not busy with school work, she spends most of her time with her sister, Chloe, and her boyfriend, Lane. It is Kaleigh’s goal to be an advocate for our patients and their wellbeing. She hopes to always be a source of knowledge for our clients, and to help empower them so that they can help their pets live the most fulfilled lives possible.
Kady is a proud North Carolina resident from Reidsville who has always had a passion for animals. From a young age, she knew she wanted to build a career helping animals live happy, healthy lives. She joined our team in October of 2024 with two years of prior experience working as a veterinary assistant.. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology at Appalachian State University, furthering her commitment to animal care and veterinary medicine.
At the clinic, Kady is especially interested in pet dentistry, forming meaningful bonds with our patients and their owners, and being a strong advocate for every pet’s well-being. She provides a welcoming environment, patience, and a genuine love for animals to everything she does. She is dedicated to making each visit as comfortable and positive as possible for every patient.
Outside of work, Kady shares her life with her fiance, Josh, and their sweet beagle, Remi. She also loves baking, reading, traveling to new places, and getting creative with arts and crafts.
Laini is from Danville, Virginia and joined our team in March of 2025. She has been working in veterinary medicine for over three years and is currently continuing her education by going back to school to become a licensed veterinary technician. Her commitment to learning and growing in the field reflects her deep love for animals and the clients who love them.
Laini not only brings her knowledge and dedication to the clinic but also a bubbly personality that puts both pets and people at ease. She has a natural gift for making others smile, and her sense of humor and positive energy brighten every corner of the clinic.
When she’s not in scrubs, you can find Laini playing pickleball or out on the dance floor on the weekends with her friends. She shares her life with her two beloved dogs, Daemon and Polly, who keep her smiling and on her toes. Whether it’s caring for a nervous pet or lifting a coworker’s spirits, Laini brings warmth, laughter, and heart to everything she does.
Kylee joined Carolina Virginia Animal Hospital in 2025, bringing her enthusiasm for animal care and her dedication to helping pets live healthy, happy lives. A graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal and Poultry Science, Kylee combines her academic background with a warm, approachable demeanor that puts both pets and their owners at ease.
Outside of work, Kylee enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active through workouts, and fishing. Her passion for animals and her commitment to providing compassionate, attentive care make her a valued part of our veterinary team.
I’m from Milton, NC, where I grew up on a five-generation burley tobacco farm surrounded by hard work, family, and a deep love for agriculture. From a young age, you could constantly find me on the back of a horse and I also spent my time showing goats at our local livestock shows as I was FFA president for 6 years in a row. I also participated in Hippology Competitions throughout school.
Today, animals are still a huge part of my life. I have three dogs—Shorty, my Pembroke Welsh Corgi; Koda, my Blue Heeler; and Haven, my Australian Shepherd. I also have horses and a Holstein calf named Emory Kate, who I bottle-raised from just two days old.
When I’m not working with my animals, you can usually find me spending time with my friends, making memories with my Godson; Braxton, or enjoying time with my family. I love taking weekend trips, exploring new places, and making the most out of life. I’m proud of where I come from, the values I was raised with, and the people and animals who make my life so special.

Ashley Deaton is a friendly face at our front desk as a Veterinary Receptionist. She spent 12 years working in the dental field before moving to North Carolina, and she brings that same strong work ethic to our clinic every day.
Ashley comes from a big family and is a true people person who has never met a stranger. She loves helping people in any way she can, and says her favorite title is “Mom,” not only to her own kids but to their friends as well. Outside of work, she loves doing things with her husband and kids, going to church, and taking on new challenges.
At home, Ashley has a huge love for dogs and shares her life with three of them: cane corsos Dixie and Jango, and a pitbull named Ruger. When she’s not at the clinic, you can often find her white water rafting, riding ATVs, or fishing.
